LoRa Edge Tracker Ref Design - User Guide documentation (v2)

Introduction

Welcome to the LoRa Edge™ Tracker Reference Design User Guide for LoRa Basics™ Modem. In this guide, we introduce you to the LoRa Edge Tracker Reference Design V1.0 and explain how to set it up with a network server and the associated mobile application, LoRa Edge™ Config.

All references to a Tracker in this document refer to the LoRa Edge™ Tracker Reference Design.

This document also makes mention of Trackers based on LoRa Basics Modem and LoRa Basics Modem-E.

  • Lora Basics Modem based Tracker:

    Tracker using the LR1110 chip in transceiver mode and running LoRa Basics Modem in the microcontroller.

  • Modem-E based Tracker:

    Tracker using the LR1110 chip in Modem-E mode, which runs the LoRaWAN® stack in the LR1110.

The reference design consists of the following components:

  • Semtech LR1110 transceiver chip

  • STM32WB55CG processor

  • Accelerometer sensor

  • Hall Effect sensor

  • Four antennas:

    • Sub-GHz antenna

    • 2.4GHz antenna

    • GNSS PCB antenna

    • GNSS Patch antenna
