Find Your End-Device Activation Keys

To activate your end device on the Semtech Network Server, you need to find a set of activation keys. The exact activation keys differ, depending on both the activation method your end device uses and the version of the LoRaWAN® specification your device is using.

End devices either support Activation-by-Personalization (ABP) or Over-the-Air-Activation (OTAA), and they implement either LoRaWAN specification version 1.0.x or 1.1.x.

If you have built your own device, you should already know which activation method and LoRaWAN specification version the device uses. If you bought a device, check the datasheet or ask the manufacturer.

The keys you need are listed below. If you buy a device, the manufacturer should supply you with keys. You can also ask the manufacturer to send you the keys. Let them know each key that you need, as listed below, with both the long and short name. If you build your own device, the keys are stored in your firmware code.
