LoRa Edge Tracker Ref Design - User Guide documentation (v2)

Troubleshooting Firmware Updates Over the Air

Application Update

If something goes wrong during an application update (a disconnection, for instance) the application firmware is removed from the LoRa Edge™ Tracker Reference Design. However, the bootloader remains.

In this case, the device restarts and stays in bootloader mode:

  • The Tracker stays in pairing mode (the red LED blinks) with the following name advertised: SMTC_TKR_OTA.

  • Once connected to the Tracker, if the app fails to retrieve the LoRa Edge Tracker configuration parameters, you can still update the application firmware, as shown in Figure 72.

LR1110 Update

If something goes wrong during an LR1110 update (such as a disconnection), the Tracker will not have the LR1110 firmware. However, the application will start anyway.

  • The Tracker stays in pairing mode (the red LED blinks) with the name SMTC_TKR_XXX advertised.

  • Once connected to the Tracker, the app fails to retrieve the LoRa Edge Tracker ref design parameters but you can update the LR1110 firmware.
